The Arab Golf Federation and the Egyptian Golf Federation have announced the organization of a “Golf Festival” to be held alongside the Arab Junior and Ladies Golf Championship in Cairo, scheduled to take place from Wednesday, May 7 to Saturday, May 10. The festival comes as part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Arab Golf Federation’s founding.
The “Golf Festival” will feature a variety of sporting and entertainment activities aimed at attracting audiences and enhancing community engagement with the sport. Highlights include performances by The Trick Shot Boys, a team renowned for their artistic golf displays, and the presence of global expert Nick Horrocks, known for developing innovative golf education programs. The festival will also offer a range of world class musical entertainment, prizes, and food and beverage options.
Omar Hesham Talaat, President of the Egyptian Golf Federation, emphasized that the Arab Junior and Ladies Championship in Egypt marks the first event within the Arab Golf Series (AGS)—a unified calendar of regional tournaments that introduces an official, independent ranking system. This system provides Arab players with a clear pathway to progress to elite levels by earning ranking points, which can help them qualify for professional tournaments. Omar Hesham added that the Arab Golf Series strengthens cooperation between the Egyptian and Arab Golf Federations and aims to create a transformative shift in the sport across the Arab world by fostering competition and nurturing young talent.
ON Sport channel has announced it will broadcast the championship events, which will be held across six different categories at Madinaty Golf Club and Katameya Dunes Golf Club. The opening ceremony will be held on May 7 at Madinaty Golf Club, while the official competitions will take place on May from 8 - 10 May at both Madinaty and Katameya Dunes golf courses. Where six categories, under 13 Girls, Under 16 girls, Ladies, u13 boys, u16 boys and u18 boys will be competing for individual and Team Honours. The crowning of the Arab championswill be hosted at the closing ceremony on May 10 at Madinaty Golf Club.
The tournament will feature over 110 players representing 12 countries: Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the UAE, and Egypt (the host country). The event is organized under the supervision of the Arab Golf Federation (AGF), which continues to play a pivotal role in growing the sport across the Arab region and boosting the presence of Arab teams in regional and international competitions. The Arab Golf Federation is committed to hosting high-quality tournaments that support talent development and elevate competitive standards among Arab nations.
In coordination with national federations in its member countries, the Arab Golf Federation is also implementing technical and developmental programs and advancing the rankings of regional players through the newly introduced Arab Ranking System, which will be applied throughout this year’s tournament series.
