UAE International Golf Cup Kicks Off with Wide Participation in Al Ain

The 2025 UAE International Golf Cup officially teed off this morning in its second edition at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club, featuring an impressive field of more than 111 players from 39 countries, in addition to 30 players on the waiting list—a clear indication of the event’s growing popularity and its rising status on the international golfing calendar. The championship began amid comprehensive organizational and technical readiness, supported by a wide range of national partners.

Representing the UAE, 10 male and female players will compete against some of the world’s leading golfers from across continents. The event also features 80 young players from the "Future Falcons" program participating in par-3 competitions and skills challenges—affirming the UAE Golf Federation’s commitment to developing young talent and paving the way for the next generation of golfers.

A major press conference was held at Ayla Grand Hotel in Al Ain, organized by the UAE Golf Federation and attended by Major General Pilot (Rtd.) Abdullah Al Hashmi, President of the Federation, along with representatives of Arab, continental, and international golf bodies, participating delegations, and local, regional, and international media. The conference highlighted details of the second edition, the tournament schedule, organizational preparations, and new initiatives accompanying the event such as the “Junior Falcons – Par 3” activity and the “Rising Future Falcons” developmental programs.

The UAE Golf Federation expressed its deep appreciation to the partners who contributed to the success of the event, including: Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Emirates NBD, Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club (AESGC), the General Authority of Sports, and the National Olympic Committee, in addition to supporting media outlets and logistical partners. This collaboration reflects the significance of the championship and the UAE’s continued commitment to cementing its position as a leading global destination for major golf tournaments.

Participating delegations and players arrived in Al Ain over the past days to begin practice rounds and familiarize themselves with the tournament course, which has undergone extensive preparations and enhancements to welcome this international event—showcasing the venue at a standard that matches the championship’s global stature.

During the press conference, Major General Pilot (Rtd.) Abdullah Al Hashmi confirmed that the UAE Golf Federation has completed all technical, officiating, and organizational preparations, saying:

“We welcome all participants to their second home, the UAE—a country of safety, peace, and tolerance. Through this championship, we aim to reinforce the UAE’s position as a global platform for golf, expand opportunities for players from various countries, and support national talent through the Falcons programs for young age groups.”

Al Hashmi also emphasized the importance of preserving the identity of the championship as a national platform bringing together elite international golfers and rising talents, stressing that continued partnerships and sponsorships strengthen the UAE’s position as a premier destination for global golf tournaments.

A Final Stop of the Arab Golf Championships Series

The UAE International Golf Cup serves as the final stop of the Arab Golf Championships Series, one of the flagship initiatives of the Arab Golf Federation aimed at empowering Arab players and enhancing their competitive presence both regionally and across the wider Arab world.

The series introduces a unified ranking system through which players earn points after each tournament they participate in, helping elevate performance levels, expand participation, and create clear pathways that enable Arab talents to progress toward professionalism and secure opportunities in major international events.
